Beautiful Joe: 110th Anniversary Edition

In 1892, Margaret Marshall Saunders was introduced to Beautiful Joe - a mongrel dog that had been cruelly mutilated by its owner. She was inspired to write this award-winning true story which was the first book in Canada to sell over 1,000,000 copies. Although she set the story in a fictional town in Maine, readers know the story is actually based in Meaford, Ontario where a park, a monument, and the Beautiful Joe Heritage Society are dedicated to the dog's memory.
